Duterte: No more approval of big projects, appointments until the end of my term
MANILA, Philippines — President Rodrigo Duterte has said he will no longer approve appointments and big projects until the end of his term.
“I have plenty of work to do. A lot of people are going to Davao because I’m winding up, so to speak. A lot of people want to see me. But I won’t anymore, I won’t sign appointments, neither will I approve huge amounts of money for projects,” Duterte said in a speech in Lapu-Lapu City Thursday night.
“And then ‘yung discretion sa itong magbigay sa (the discretion for the) reclamation areas sa (in) Manila. I said it’s either I’ll suspend it for the meantime and just leave it to the next administration,” he added. Duterte’s six-year term as president ends on June 30.
