Maynilad customers to get P323 bill rebate in April
MANILA, Philippines — A total of 198,315 customers of Maynilad Water Services Inc. who were affected by prolonged water service interruption can expect a bill rebate or a partial refund of P323, which will be reflected back in their account starting in April.
Maynilad made the announcement on Wednesday after it was slapped with a fine of P63.9 million by the Metropolitan Waterworks and Sewerage System (MWSS) Regulatory Office for implementing water service interruptions from December 2021 to February 2022.
The affected areas are covered by the supply zone of its Putatan Water Treatment Plant:
- four cities in Metro Manila — Parañaque, Las Piñas, Muntinlupa, and Pasay
- three cities in Cavite Bacoor, Imus, and Cavite City
- two municipalities in Cavite — Rosario and Noveleta
Evelyn Agustin, deputy administrator of the MWSS-RO, discussed details of the rebate in a public information drive video posted on Facebook.

Article continues after this advertisementLast January, the regulatory agency: “Based on the evidence gathered from its investigation, the MWSS RO concluded that Maynilad failed to meet its Service Obligation of ensuring the availability of an uninterrupted 24 hour supply of water at seven pounds per square inch (psi) minimum pressure to all connected Customers in its Service Area.”
