CARMEN, North Cotabato – Vice presidential candidate Sara Duterte-Carpio said Monday that she respects the choices of her friends and supporters even if she is turning down anew their declaration to back “Ro-Sa” in the May 9 polls.
Duterte-Carpio continued to urge her supporters to back her team up with Ferdinand Marcos Jr. amid a pitch for her to be paired with presidential candidate Leni Robredo.
“Ro-Sa” was coined by supporters of Duterte-Carpio and stands for “Robredo-Sara.”
“Nagpapasalamat po ako sa lahat ng mga kaibigan at supporters sa suporta nila sa aking candidacy, and I continue to call on everyone na suportahan ang UniTeam ni Bongbong Marcos and I continue to respect the choices that are made by my friends and supporters,” she told reporters after a campaign rally in Carmen, North Cotabato.
(I thank all my friends and supporters for their support of my candidacy, and I continue to call on everyone to support Bongbong Marcos’ UniTeam, and I continue to respect the choices that are made by my friends and supporters.)
Duterte also greeted her father, President Rodrigo Duterte, on his birthday. She claimed that she and her father have not been able to discuss politics since last year.
Duterte-Carpio’s husband, lawyer Manases Carpio, was present during a rally here. It was the first time that he joined his wife on the campaign trail.
Their children, Mateo Lucas and Marko Digong, were also with them.
“Sa May 9, suportahan ninyo si Inday Sara para bise presidente. Maaasahan ko ba ho kayo? Maaasahan po natin ‘yon? Sino ang ating bise presidente? Ang ka-tandem ni Inday Sara, siyempre si BBM, Bongbong Marcos para president!” Carpio said before a huge crowd.
