MANILA, Philippines — A 4.0-magnitude earthquake hit Ilocos Norte on Monday night, said the Philippine Institute of Volcanology and Seismology (Phivolcs).
According to the Phivolcs, the epicenter of the quake was located five kilometers (kms) northwest of Bacarra, Ilocos Norte, and was recorded at exactly 7:10 p.m.
Phivolcs said that Intensity IV was felt in Bacarra and Pasuquin, Ilocos Norte.
Meanwhile, Instrumental Intensities were felt in the following areas:
- Intensity IV – Pasuquin, Ilocos Norte
- Intensity II – Laoag City
- Intensity I – Sinait, Ilocos Sur
State seismologists said that the quake was tectonic in origin and had a depth of 25 km
Meanwhile, according to Phivolcs, no damages and aftershocks are expected after the said quake.
