Muntinlupa City now has 6 COVID-free barangays

MANILA, Philippines —  The local government of Muntinlupa on Wednesday said that it already has six barangays (villages) with no cases of COVID-19, while the number of active cases in the city nears its all-time low.

In a statement, the city government identified the six barangays as Barangay Tunasan, Barangay Poblacion, Barangay Bayanan, Barangay Ayala Alabang, Barangay Buli, and Barangay Sucat.

According to Muntinlupa City Health Office, there are only seven remaining active cases of the virus, as of March 23, only slightly higher than the lowest recorded in December of last year at five active cases.

Despite the improving pandemic situation in the city, Mayor Jaime Fresnedi appealed to residents of the city to continue following minimum health protocols. He also urged residents to get vaccinated and get their booster shots.

“City residents may register online through the city’s COVID-19 vaccination registration system via www.vaccine.muntinlupacity.gov.ph/muncovac,” he said in a statement.
