SAN ANTONIO, Zambales — Residents in this province can now expect more relaxed restrictions related to COVID-19 after the province was placed under the most lenient alert level 1.
It was the first time this year that Zambales was put under alert level 1, as it continues to see a downward trend in COVID-19 cases.
Zambales and the rest of Central Luzon, including Nueva Ecija province, have all been placed under the same alert status from March 16-31.

In the entire region, only Zambales and Nueva Ecija were previously placed under alert level 2 during the first half of March, while all the other localities reverted to level 1.
As of Tuesday, Zambales’ active cases dropped to 24 after three more virus-infected patients recovered from the disease. No new infections were added to the local tally on the same day.
Since last week, the province has already been tagged as “very low risk” for COVID-19 by the independent analytics group OCTA Research.
