MANILA, Philippines — Three-term senator and UniTeam senatorial candidate Loren Legarda, who is now aspiring for a Senate comeback, remains amongst the top choices for senator in the latest Pulse Asia survey released on Monday.
According to the survey conducted from February 18 to 23, the respondents who said they will vote for Legarda slightly increased to 58.9%.
Meanwhile, broadcaster Raffy Tulfo once again topped the survey with 66.9%.
Former Public Works Secretary Mark Villar followed Legarda with 56.2%, former House Speaker Alan Peter Cayetano with 55%, and Juan Miguel “Migz” Zubiri with 50.5%.
Also included in the list of leading preferred senatorial candidates are:
- Sorsogon Governor Chiz Escudero – 49.8 percent
- Actor Robin Padilla – 47.3 percent
- Former Vice President Jejomar Binay – 45.6 percent
- Senator Win Gatchalian – 44.6 percent
- Senator Joel Villanueva – 42.0 percent
- Former Senator Jinggoy Estrada – 38.6 percent
- Former Quezon City Mayor Herbert Bautista – 32.8 percent
Former Senator JV Ejercito, who is also gunning for a Senate return, made it to the winning circle with 31.6%, based on the latest Pulse Asia Survey.
Legarda, who topped the Senate race twice in 1998 and 2007, has promised to enhance her public service further and promote laws that will help the recovery of Filipinos who have lost their jobs and have been severely affected by the crisis caused by the COVID-19 pandemic once re-elected.
