Robredo gets support of Deputy Speaker Rodriguez, party

MANILA, Philippines — House Deputy Speaker Rufus Rodriguez endorsed Vice President Leni Robredo’s presidential candidacy in the May 9 national elections on Sunday.

The Cagayan de Oro Rep. also assured that his family and his party, the Centrist Democratic Party’s (CDP), would support Robredo’s presidential bid.

“Today, I am proud to endorse and declare my full support as well as that of my family’s and my party’s (CDP) support [for] the Presidential candidacy of VP Leni Robredo,” Rodriguez announced in a Twitter post.

“She is the best choice for our country and our children moving forward,” he added.
