MANILA, Philippines — Four cities in Luzon are now at very low risk for COVID-19, a fellow of independent analytics group Octa Research said Monday.

“Angeles, Dagupan, Lucena, Olongapo at VERY LOW RISK while NCR (National Capital Region), Baguio, Naga City, Santiago at LOW RISK. Puerto Princesa still at MODERATE RISK,” Guido David said in a Twitter post.

Angeles, Dagupan, Lucena, and Olongapo City’s growth rates, average daily attack rate (Adar), reproduction number, healthcare utilization rate, and positivity rate are all considered very low.

The four cities’ COVID-19 growth rates range from -62 percent to -30 percent.

The Adar, or the average number of new cases per 100,000 population of the four cities range from 0.35 to 0.55.

Their reproduction numbers are all below one, the ideal figure which indicates lesser COVID-19 spread.

Angeles, Dagupan, and Lucena’s positivity rate is two percent while Olongapo is at three percent, within the five-percent threshold of the World Health Organization.
