Angeles City logs 19 more COVID-19 cases, 1 death

MABALACAT CITY, Pampanga – For the first time this year,  Angeles City registered zero new COVID-19 cases and no deaths on Sunday (Feb. 20), the city government announced on Monday.

It said there has been a steady decline in the number of cases since late last month as it continues its vaccination drive against the viral disease.

The city also registered zero recoveries on Sunday, maintaining its active COVID-19 cases at 39.

Cutcut village had the most active cases at 10, followed by Malabanias and Santo Domingo with five each, and Tabun with four.

Of the city’s 33 villages, 19 are already free of COVID-19.

Since the pandemic started in 2020, Angeles City has recorded a total of 14,521 COVID-19 cases, including 13,947 recoveries and 535 deaths.

While the city government usually allows only fully vaccinated individuals in malls and other indoor establishments, minors aged 5 to 17 who had an initial dose of the vaccine against COVID-19 can now enter malls and dine-in establishments under its latest guidelines dated Feb. 17.

All provinces and highly urbanized cities in Central Luzon are under Alert Level 2 from Feb. 15 to 28.
