Almost 68% of Angeles City residents now fully vaccinated vs COVID-19
MABALACAT CITY, Pampanga––At least 67.8 percent of Angeles City’s total population had been vaccinated fully against COVID-19 as of Jan. 20, the city government disclosed on Sunday, Jan. 23.
It said 314,018 city residents received two doses of Sinovac, AstraZeneca, Pfizer, Moderna, Sinopharm, Sputnik V, and a single dose of Johnson & Johnson’s Janssen vaccines.
The highly urbanized city has a total population of 462,928 based on the 2020 census.
City government data showed that 15,183 residents were still waiting for their second dose of the vaccines as of Jan. 20. Once vaccinated, a total of 329,201 residents comprising 71 percent of the total population would be inoculated fully against the viral disease.
Some 13,359 residents have received their booster shots as of Jan. 20.
Article continues after this advertisementThe city government said inoculation was ongoing at its vaccination sites and through its mobile bus clinics that go to different villages daily.
Article continues after this advertisementIn its latest update on Jan. 22, the city government said it registered 124 new COVID-19 cases, 43 recoveries, and no deaths.
It has recorded 13,873 COVID-19 cases since the pandemic began in 2020. Of these, 12,424 had recovered, while 523 had died.
