Muslim leader calls Isko Moreno ‘our incoming president’
MANILA, Philippines — The influential chief minister of the Bangsamoro Autonomous Region in Muslim Mindanao (Barmm) called Manila Mayor Francisco “Isko Moreno” Domagoso “our incoming president” during the former’s courtesy call in Cotabato City on Monday.
The interim BARMM leader Murad Ebrahim, who also chairs the Moro Islamic Liberation Front, gave a warm welcome to the Aksyon Demokratiko standard-bearer on the second day of his tour of Mindanao.
“Greetings to Manila Mayor Isko Moreno, our incoming president, welcome to the Bangsamoro government,” Ebrahim told the mayor.
He said he was looking forward to working with Domagoso.
Domagoso’s camp said Ebrahim “stressed the need to continue the programs and reforms uplifting the plight of the Bangsamoro people, especially during the extended transition period, to honor the sacrifices and services of the Bangsamoro people who went through so much pain and suffering in their struggle for justice.”
