MANILA, Philippines — The wife of Linconn Ong, the director of the controversial Pharmally Pharmaceutical Corp., asked senators on Sunday to allow him to stay at home while their two-year old son recovers from dengue.
Summer, in a letter to the Senate dated February 20, thanked the senators for whatever considerations they are willing to provide for Linconn’s release.
“I wish to express my heartfelt gratitude to Senate President Tito Sotto and to Senator Panfilo Lacson for the kind words and understanding of my fervent request on behalf of my son,” she said.
“I also wish to thank Senator Richard Gordon and the Blue Ribbon committee in advance for whatever consideration they are willing to provide for my husband Linconn Ong,” she added.
Summer renewed her assurance that they will continue to cooperate and face the result of the Pharmally mess.
“We do implore the kind senators to please let my husband stay home in the meantime to help rebuild our family, our lives, and to prepare us to face whatever may come,” she said.
“As I have said in my letters, let me assure you, as one family, we are willing to face whatever challenges and trials together,” added Summer.
Last week, Summer appealed to the Senate to free her husband to attend to their two-year-old son who is suffering from dengue.
Linconn, together with Pharmally corporate secretary and treasurer Mohit Dargani, is currently detained at the Pasay City Jail for failing to produce the subpoenaed financial documents of the firm.
Pharmally was under scrutiny of the Senate’s blue ribbon committee over alleged irregularities in its multi-billion-peso deals with the government to provide medical supplies amid the COVID-19 pandemic.
