2 drug suspects fall in Quezon busts; P420K shabu seized

LUCENA CITY – Police arrested two drug suspects in separate buy-bust operations in Tiaong, Quezon province on Friday and Saturday, seizing over P420,000 worth of shabu (crystal meth), report said.

Police Colonel Joel Villanueva, Quezon police chief, in a report identified the arrested suspects as May Naredo, 28, tagged by police as a high-value target and alleged member of a drug group; and Venson Luna, 28, who is included in the police watch list in the locality.

Anti-illegal drugs operatives busted Naredo after selling shabu in a piece of plastic sachet to an undercover police officer accompanied by an informant, both acting as drug users in Barangay Lumingon at around 1:40 a.m. Saturday. Seized were seven sachets of shabu weighing a total of 15.34 grams with a street value of P312,936.

On Friday, anti-narcotic agents also collared Luna in another drug sting in Barangay Lusacan around 9:10 p.m. Luna found carrying four sachets of shabu weighing 5.28 grams and worth P107,712 in the street market.

The suspects are now detained and will be facing charges for violation of the Comprehensive Dangerous Drugs Act of 2002.
