SPD cops seize over P500,000 illegal drugs in series of anti-drug ops
MANILA, Philippines – Anti-narcotics police officers have arrested 11 men and seized P521,560 worth of alleged shabu (crystal meth) in four different entrapment operations conducted in the cities of Muntinlupa, Makati, Parañaque, and Las Piñas on Tuesday.
Southern Police District (SPD) director Brig. Gen. Jimili Macaraeg reported that at about 1:35 in the afternoon, officers from Makati City Police Sub Station 2 conducted a buy-bust operation in Barangay Palanan.
The operation resulted in the arrest of Michelle Nepomuceno, Bashier Pacasum, a former drug surrenderee, Josef Dacalos–who has been apprehended with an outstanding drug case–and Dolrich Yuayan.
Seven heat-sealed transparent plastic sachets containing white crystalline substance of suspected shabu with an approximate weight of seven grams with a Standard Drug Price (SDP) of P47,600, a coin purse, and a P500 buy-bust money were recovered from the suspects during the search operation, according to a report from the SPD.
Meanwhile, Muntinlupa police arrested two residents of Barangay Putatan around 8:25 in the evening. Officials identified the suspects as Raymart Baria and Vivien Koa.

Article continues after this advertisementSPD also reported that officers of the Las Piñas Police captured Orlando Torio and Cristina Samson along Real St. Barangay Talon Uno at about 11:45 in the evening. Arresting personnel confiscated three sachets containing suspected shabu weighing around 12.7 grams, with an estimated street value of P86,360 and a P200 buy-bust money.
Macaraeg said that operatives of Parañaque City Police likewise carried out an operation around 11:55 in the evening leading to the arrest of Diosa Padayao, Amado Magno Jr, and Noel Sabagkit.
Each of the 14 plastic sachets recovered from the suspects contained suspected shabu weighing 55 grams with an SDP of P374,000. During the operation, a coin purse, a sling bag, P2,000 buy-bust money, and P500 money were also seized.
All apprehended suspects are being held by the respective Custodial Facility of their arresting units while awaiting trial on complaints filed against them for violation of the Republic Act 9165 or the Comprehensive Dangerous Drugs Act of 2002.
In the meantime, the SPD Forensic Unit was tasked to conduct chemical analysis on the evidence confiscated to determine the concentration of the illegal drug. Jericho Zafra, Inquirer.net trainee
