PH posts 3,651 new COVID-19 cases
MANILA, Philippines — The country’s daily new COVID-19 cases continue to show a decline as the Department of Health (DOH) reports 3,651 additional coronavirus infections on Wednesday, the second straight day that figures were over 3,000.
According to the DOH bulletin, the current active COVID-19 cases in the Philippines are now at 96,326.
The DOH also reported 12,834 additional recoveries and 69 more deaths. The total number of recoveries is now at 3,472,160 while total fatalities are at 54,690.
The country has so far recorded a total of 3,623,176 confirmed COVID-19 cases.
Of the active cases, 95 percent are either mild or asymptomatic. A total of 4,150 are asymptomatic cases, 87,385 are mild, 3,029 are moderate, 1,447 are severe, and 315 are critical.
Article continues after this advertisementThe DOH also recorded a positivity rate of 16.5 percent out of 29,970 individuals who got tested on Monday.
Article continues after this advertisementOn hospitalization, 40 percent of intensive care unit (ICU) beds, 36 percent of isolation beds, and 32 percent of ward beds nationwide for COVID-19 patients are currently being occupied.
In Metro Manila, 32 percent of ICU beds, 29 percent of isolation beds, and 30 percent of ward beds are in use.
All testing laboratories were operational on Monday, according to the DOH. However, three laboratories were not able to submit their data to the COVID-19 Document Repository System.
