Expect rain in Caraga, Davao due to easterlies; fair weather rest of PH

Generally fair weather is expected over most of the country on Tuesday, except in the Caraga and Davao regionss in Mindanao due to the effects of easterlies, said the Philippine Atmospheric, Geophysical and Astronomical Services Administration (Pagasa) on Monday.

MANILA, Philippines — Generally fair weather is expected over most of the country on Tuesday, except in the Caraga and Davao regionss in Mindanao due to the effects of easterlies, said the Philippine Atmospheric, Geophysical and Astronomical Services Administration (Pagasa) on Monday.

Despite the forecast fair weather, Pagasa weather specialist Ana Clauren, however, said light rain showers are still possible in areas affected by the northeast monsoon, specifically in the Ilocos Region, Cordillera Administrative Region, Cagayan Valley and Central Luzon.

“Dito sa Metro Manila at nalalabing bahagi ng Luzon, asahan natin na magiging maaliwalas pa rin na may tiyansa lamang ng dagliang pagulan mula hapon hanggang gabi,” she added.

(Here in Metro Manila and the rest of Luzon, expect weather conditions to be clear with only a chance of sudden rain from afternoon to night.)

Meanwhile, the Caraga and Davao region in Mindanao will experience overcast skies and rain due to the easterlies, said Clauren while the rest of Mindanao as well as the entire Visayas will have generally fair weather conditions, with chances of rain in the afternoon and evening.

No low pressure area or storms are also expected to affect the country in the next three to five days, said Clauren.

Temperature range in key cities/areas according to Pagasa for Monday:

  • Metro Manila: 23 to 30 degrees Celsius
  • Baguio City: 14 to 20 degrees Celsius
  • Laoag City:  21 to 31 degrees Celsius
  • Tuguegarao: 20 to 30 degrees Celsius
  • Legazpi City: 25 to 30 degrees Celsius
  • Puerto Princesa City: 25 to 31 degrees Celsius
  • Tagaytay: 21 to 28 degrees Celsius
  • Kalayaan Islands: 25 to 31 degrees Celsius
  • Iloilo City: 25 to 29 degrees Celsius
  • Cebu: 25 to 30 degrees Celsius
  • Tacloban City: 24 to 29 degrees Celsius
  • Cagayan De Oro City: 25 to 29 degrees Celsius
  • Zamboanga City: 24 to 33 degrees Celsius
  • Davao City: 25 to 30 degrees Celsius

Gale warning, said Clauren, is also raised in the seaboards of Northern Luzon, eastern seaboards of Central and Southern Luzon, and the eastern seaboards of Visayas and Mindanao.
