MANILA, Philippines — Vice President Leni Robredo on Wednesday said she no longer intends to marry again or even enter a relationship.
“Wala pong love life, at ‘yun po ‘yung 100 percent sigurado na ko. Hinding-hindi na po ako magaasawa, at hindi na rin po papasok sa isang relationship,” said the presidential aspirant, who is a widow, when asked about the status of her love life during the DZRH Presidential Job Interview.
(No love life, and I am 100 percent sure of that. I will never get married again, and won’t enter a relationship.)
“Sakit lang ‘yan sa ulo (that’s just a headache),” she added in jest.
Robredo was married to the late Interior Secretary Jesse Robredo, who died in a plane crash in 2012. They have three daughters — Aika, Tricia, and Jilian.
To date, only former Presidents Elpidio Quirino, Corazon Aquino, and Benigno S. Aquino III had no spouse to assume the title of First Lady or First Gentleman during their respective tenure as highest leader of the country.
