Rain expected in parts of Luzon due to LPA off Palawan — Pagasa
MANILA, Philippines — The low-pressure area (LPA) south-southwest of Puerto Princesa City will bring rain to parts of Southern Luzon on Thursday, according to the Philippine Atmospheric, Geophysical, and Astronomical Services Administration (Pagasa).
Pagasa said that as of 3:00 a.m., the LPA was spotted 190 kilometers south-southwest of Puerto Princesa City, Palawan.
“Nananatili na mababa ang tsansa nito na maging bagyo pero dahil sa LPA inaasahan ngayong araw ang pag-ulan sa ilang bahagi ng Southern Luzon,” Pagasa weather specialist Aldczar Aurelio said.

Based on Pagasa’s forecast, Palawan, Cagayan Valley, Cordillera Administrative Region, Aurora, and Quezon will experience cloudy skies with scattered rain showers and thunderstorms due to the LPA and the shear line, or the convergence of winds from the “amihan” and the easterlies.
Metro Manila and the rest of the country, meanwhile, will have partly cloudy to cloudy skies with isolated rain showers due to the easterlies and localized thunderstorms.
The LPA may leave the Philippine area of responsibility on Thursday or Friday, according to Aurelio.
