2 more COVID-19 deaths logged in Zambales

SAN ANTONIO, Zambales–After recording zero COVID-19 deaths for 10 days, this province reported two more fatalities related to the disease, local data showed on Tuesday, Jan. 18

According to the provincial health office, the deaths of the two virus-infected patients raised to 612 its COVID-19 death toll since the pandemic broke out in 2020.

Data also showed that 41 new infections and 47 new recoveries were registered in the province, bringing its active COVID-19 cases to 361.

The province has logged 10,397 COVID-19 cases with 9,806 recoveries.

At least 308,520 residents, or 67.84 percent of the target population, had been fully vaccinated against the viral disease.

To achieve herd immunity, the province needs to vaccinate 454,730 of its population of 649,615.
