Fire kills elderly couple in Baguio

BAGUIO CITY–An elderly couple died Wednesday when a three-hour fire gutted their house in this city, authorities said.

The victims were Juan Velasco and his wife Julieta, both 94 years old.

Investigators said the blaze that razed the couple’s house in Barangay P. Burgos began at 5 a.m. and was put out around 8 a.m.

The victims’ remains were brought to the Baguio Memorial Chapel. The cause of the fire has yet to be determined.
