500,000 AstraZeneca COVID-19 vaccine doses from Argentinian gov’t arrive

MANILA, Philippines – Half a million doses of AstraZeneca’s COVID-19 vaccine donated by Argentina arrived in the country on Tuesday evening.

The National Task Force (NTF) Against COVID-19 said that the 500,000 doses were transported via Turkish Airlines flight TK0084, which landed at the Ninoy Aquino International Airport Terminal 3.

Early this day, the donation of the American and French governments of 3.3 million Pfizer and AstraZeneca anti-COVID shots were likewise delivered.

The country is also set to receive 1.3 million doses of Moderna’s COVID-19 vaccine on Tuesday tonight. These shots were procured by the private sector.

After the last vaccine shipment this day, the Philippines’ running total of received vaccines is 192.3 million doses since deliveries began in February, the NTF said.

To date, the country has fully immunized 44.2 million individuals.
