Davao City checks reports of two bomb threats
MANILA, Philippines — The Davao City government on Tuesday said it was looking into reports of two bomb threats in the city.
“There are two bomb threats currently investigated by the security cluster of Davao City,” the local government announced on Facebook, but it did not provide other details.
The local government cited “violent extremism” and politics as likely motives.
“Violent extremism is a scourge around the globe and Dabawenyos should, at all times, remain vigilant. On the other hand, threats may be politically motivated particularly from people who have evil intent,” it said.
It called on its residents to report information about planned terror attacks or suspicious activities to Task Force Davao at 224-0911 (landline), 0999 227 1111 (Smart), and 0917 131 4333 (Globe).
