Marine officer nabbed for shooting sister’s partner in Catanduanes

LEGAZPI CITY — A member of the Philippine Marines was arrested on Saturday night for allegedly shooting another person he tried to pacify in Viga town in Catanduanes province, police said Sunday.

Police Lieutenant Colonel Edgar Clerigo, information officer of Police Community Affairs and Development Office in Catanduanes, said when the victim, identified in the report only as “Dan,” and his live-in partner had a heated argument in their house in Barangay (village) Ogbong at around 6:20 p.m., the suspect identified as “Luis” tried to pacify but “Dan” responded by trying to hack at him.

This prompted Luis to shoot Dan using his caliber .45 gun.
