PH receives 4 million donated COVID-19 vaccine doses

MANILA, Philippines — Around 4 million donated COVID-19 vaccine doses arrived in the Philippines on Wednesday.
The vaccines were given by the governments of the United Kingdom (UK), Germany, and the Netherlands.
The UK government donated 214,500 doses of AstraZeneca COVID-19 vaccines. It was carried by Emirates flight EK332.
Meanwhile, the donated 856,800 Moderna and 3,055,200 Johnson & Johnson COVID-19 vaccine doses from Germany and the Netherlands, respectively, were coursed through the Covax Facility and were carried by Qatar Airways flight QR932.
Both flights landed at the Ninoy Aquino International Airport Terminal 3.
The Netherlands’ shipment this day completed its 7,538,400-dose donation. Three batches were delivered on Monday and Tuesday.
The country is expecting three more deliveries within the day as it is set to receive 10 million COVID-19 vaccine doses, the highest single-day vaccine arrivals.
As of December 14, a total of 166,851,720 doses of various COVID-19 vaccines were transported to the Philippines since deliveries started in February.
