MANILA, Philippines — Muntinlupa City is intending to vaccinate 8,000 individuals a day during the three-day nationwide COVID-19 vaccination drive that started Monday.

According to the local government, all major and satellite vaccination sites have been opened from 8:00 a.m. to 5 p.m. to cater to those who want to be vaccinated against the new coronavirus.

Its satellite vaccination sites, meanwhile, are located in Buli Health Center, Bayanan Unit 1 Elementary School, Poblacion Health Center, Southville 3 Covered Court, and Victory Health Center.

All major and satellite vaccination sites, except Festival Mall, will administer first doses using Pfizer-BioNTech, Sinovac, and AstraZeneca vaccines for all priority groups, the local government said in a statement.

Booster shots will be given in selected vaccination sites, it added. Pfizer-BioNTech, Sinovac, and Moderna will be administered as booster shots at SM Center Muntinlupa, Ayala Malls South Park, Cupang Health Center, and Sucat Covered Court, while for Festival Mall, the vaccine to be used is Moderna, it also said.

The local government further said that it opened the Ospital ng Muntinlupa for vaccination but will only administer vaccines for Pediatric A3 or minors with comorbidities.

Muntinlupa City likewise sent a team to Cabuyao, Laguna, to assist in their COVID-19 vaccination campaign. According to the local government, their assistance to Cabuyao is in support of the national government campaign’s advocacy of “bayanihan” to help other local government units with low vaccination rates.

As of November 26, Muntinlupa City already vaccinated 106.2 percent of its target population or 409,637 citizens with the first dose and fully vaccinated 88.3 percent or 340,699 individuals.

The city has also so far administered at least 2,285 booster shots for the qualified priority groups.

Currently, Muntinlupa City has 33 active cases, 27,555 confirmed cases, 26,944 recoveries, and 578 deaths.

The national government has set the three-day vaccination drive from November 29 to December 1, initially aiming to inoculate 3 million persons a day or a total of 15 million people but later reduced the total target to 9 million.

Another three-day vaccination drive was set by the government from December 15-18.

As of 4 p.m. November 29, Health Undersecretary Myrna Cabotaje said 547,628 individuals have been injected with a dose of the COVID-19 vaccines.
