Almost 13,000 minors vaccinated vs COVID-19 in Tacloban City
TACLOBAN CITY – Close to 13,000 children aged 12 to 17 in this city have been inoculated against COVID-19.
Dr. Gloria Fabrigas, city health officer, said they are targeting to vaccinate 32,307 minors.
Of the 12,946 vaccinated minors in the city, 953 were fully vaccinated as of Sunday.
Tacloban, which currently has 36 active cases of COVID-19, has been ramping up its vaccination campaign to achieve herd immunity before the end of the year.
Aside from its regular vaccination sites, which included the Astrodome and two shopping malls, the city government has identified eight public schools as vaccination centers to accommodate those who will avail of the government’s three-day vaccination campaign which starts on Monday, Nov. 29.
At present, the city government has so far vaccinated 130,689 individuals. The city is set to inoculate 185,938 for it to achieve herd immunity against COVID-19.
