PH logs 838 new COVID-19 cases, lowest recorded in November

MANILA, Philippines — The Department of Health (DOH) on Sunday recorded the lowest daily count of new COVID-19 cases in November at only 838, the lowest since Nov. 16.

The country recorded 849 new COVID-19 cases on Nov. 16. Sunday also marks the 5th consecutive day the country tallied less than 1000 daily cases of COVID-19.

This is also the lowest tally since Dec. 28, when only 766 new infections were recorded.

Meanwhile, the new COVID-19 cases account for 2.4 percent of the 34,241 total tests conducted, which also brought the total number of confirmed infections to 2,831,807.

The total number of patients who recovered from COVID-19 also rose to 2,766,816 after the DOH recorded 1,217 new recoveries.

With more recoveries recorded, the number of active infections now currently sits at only 16,630.

Of these infected with the coronavirus, 47.8 percent have mild cases, 7.1 percent are asymptomatic, 23.36 percent have moderate cases, 15.2 percent have severe cases, and 6.5 percent are in critical condition.

The DOH also recorded 156 new deaths, raising the country’s COVID-19 death toll to 48,361.

The health agency added that 13 duplicates were also removed from the total case count — of which 12 were recoveries

“In addition, 195 cases were found to have tested negative and have been removed from the total case count. Of these, 192 are recoveries,” the DOH said.

Moreover, 117 cases that were previously tagged as recoveries were reclassified as deaths after final validation,” it added.
