Farmer’s decomposing body found in Kalinga

The decomposing body of a 61-year-old farmer was discovered inside a nipa hut in Pinukpuk town, Kalinga province on Sunday (Nov. 21), police said.

TUGUEGARAO CITY–The decomposing body of a 61-year-old farmer was discovered inside a nipa hut in Pinukpuk town, Kalinga province on Sunday (Nov. 21), police said.

Maj. Lee Alvin Alinao, Pinukpuk police chief, identified the farmer as Silvestre Ayyom, a resident of Barangay Bayao but worked as a farm caretaker in Barangay Camalog, both in Pinukpuk.

Initial investigation disclosed that the farmer’s body was discovered by his son and son-in-law who went to check on him after he failed to return home for several days.

Police were still investigating the cause of Ayyom’s death and were determining if there was foul play. INQ
