MANILA, Philippines — Anti-narcotics operatives on Thursday arrested a suspected drug pusher in a buy-bust operation in Quezon City, seizing P3 million worth of marijuana.

In a police report, Quezon City Police District (QCPD) identified the suspect as Joseph Ang, 22 years old and a resident of Caloocan City.

QCPD also tagged Ang as a “Regional Priority Target Drug Personality.”

According to QCPD, Ang was arrested at 8:30 a.m. Thursday, Nov. 18, in a buy-bust operation on Elliptical Road, Barangay Capitol Site in Quezon City.

Police said they launched the operation after a confidential informant reported Ang’s illegal drug peddling activities. A police officer, disguised as a buyer, bought P50,000 worth of marijuana from Ang.

Seized from the suspect were 25 kilograms of marijuana valued at P3,000,000.00.

QCPD said the suspect would be charged for violating Sections 5 and 11 of Article II of Republic Act 9165 or the “Comprehensive Dangerous Drugs Act of 2002.”
