Drug sting in Quezon City nets woman, P3.4 million worth of ‘shabu’
MANILA, Philippines — Crystalline substance suspected to be “shabu” roughly worth P3.4 million was confiscated from a 28-year-old woman following a buy-bust operation in Quezon City, the Philippine Drug Enforcement Agency (PDEA) said.
According to PDEA, members of its National Capital Region office and the Quezon City Police District’s Station 10 arrested the suspect it identified as Diana Camille Basa, of Valenzuela City, after an anti-drug sting along NIA Road in Barangay Pinyahan on Friday afternoon.
The illegal drug, with an estimated weight of 500 grams, was contained in five plastic pouches placed inside a single-use white plastic bag that was concealed in a foil tea pack which was further covered using a brown paper bag.
Aside from the illegal substance, PDEA said they recovered the marked money used in the buy-bust operation from the suspect, who would be charged for violation of Republic Act No. 9165, or the Comprehensive Dangerous Drugs Act of 2002.
