Over 23,200 minors get 1st COVID-19 jabs in Angeles City

ANGELES CITY—A total of 23,232 children ages 12 to 17 years received their first dose of the COVID-19 vaccine, the city government disclosed on Tuesday.
The city government said the number included 516 children with comorbidities.
Along with the children, 269,504 persons, or 58.2 percent of the city’s total population of 462,928 (2020 census) had received their initial dose of the vaccines.
City government statistics also showed that 216,180 or 46.6 percent of the population had been vaccinated fully against COVID-19.
It said only Moderna and Pfizer vaccines were injected into minors in compliance with the Department of Health guidelines.
Vaccines used for adults include Moderna, Pfizer, Sinovac, AstraZeneca, Janssen, and Sinopharm.
On Tuesday, this city registered no new COVID-19 patients, no deaths, and three recoveries, bringing down its active cases to 24.
Since the pandemic began last year, it recorded 12,525 cases of which 11,982 have recovered, while 519 died.
