30% of Aurora folk fully vaccinated vs COVID-19

MABALACAT CITY, Pampanga – Some 49,524 or about 30.8 percent of the 160,889 target residents of Aurora have been fully vaccinated against COVID-19, the provincial government announced on Friday.

The Aurora COVID-19 Vaccination Operations Center said 71,756 residents in the province or 44.6 percent of the target population have also received the first dose of the vaccines and are waiting for their second doses.

It said the capital town of Aurora has the highest number of fully vaccinated individuals at 41.9 percent while San Luis town has the least number of fully vaccinated residents at 20.2 percent.

In his radio program, Governor Gerardo Noveras has been urging his constituents to have themselves vaccinated against the coronavirus disease, citing health agencies’ reports that the vaccines are safe and would not cause life-threatening conditions.

Aurora registered eight new COVID-19 cases, six recoveries and zero deaths on Friday.

Since the pandemic began last year, the province has recorded a total of 3,592 cases of which 3,289 have recovered while 83 died.
