MANILA, Philippines — Veteran radio host Noli de Castro will return to his radio program on Monday following his withdrawal from the 2022 senatorial race.
De Castro, also known as Kabayan, made the announcement himself on an Instagram post on Thursday.
“Salamat po, sa kaunting pagkakataon na ma-enjoy ko ang beach, bago bumalik muli sa Teleradyo sa Lunes, kita kits kabayan,” De Castro said in his caption, referring to his radio program.
(Thank you, for I had the chance to enjoy the beach before my return to Teleradyo on Monday. See you later, compatriots.)
The former senator and vice president withdrew his candidacy for senator last October 13.
De Castro had filed his candidacy under the Aksyon Demokratiko, led by presidential aspirant Manila Mayor Isko Moreno.
In 2001, he topped the senatorial elections, garnering more than 16 million voters. De Castro also served as vice president from 2004 to 2010.
One of the leading anchors in ABS-CBN, Kabayan played key roles in Teleradyo radio’s Kabayan program, as well as the news magazine show Magandang Gabi Bayan and news and public affairs program TV Patrol.
