LPA, shear line to bring rain over Palawan, Bicol and Eastern Visayas
MANILA, Philippines — The low-pressure area (LPA) located west of the country will bring rain showers over Palawan, as well as the shear line in Bicol Region, Eastern Visayas on Thursday, said the Philippine Atmospheric, Geophysical, and Astronomical Services Administration (Pagasa).
(Cloudy and rainy skies will prevail in the Palawan area and the Kalayaan area due to the LPA, while the shear line will cause rain in the Bicol region.)
This LPA was last spotted 115 km west of Puerto Princesa City as of 3:00 p.m. and is expected to exit the Philippine area of responsibility on Thursday.
(In other parts of Luzon, including Metro Manila and other parts of Mimaropa, rain continues to fall in the morning. The afternoon and evening will be hot.)
The shear line will also prevail over the Eastern Visayas, according to Rojas.
Meanwhile, hotter and more humid weather is expected in the rest of the Visayas and the entire Mindanao, but thunderstorms are still likely to occur during the afternoon and evening.
