LPA, shear line to bring rain over Palawan, Bicol and Eastern Visayas
MANILA, Philippines — The low-pressure area (LPA) located west of the country will bring rain showers over Palawan, as well as the shear line in Bicol Region, Eastern Visayas on Thursday, said the Philippine Atmospheric, Geophysical, and Astronomical Services Administration (Pagasa).
“Maulap at may mga pag-ulan sa Palawan area maging sa Kalayaan area dulot ng LPA, samantalang sa Bicol Region, ‘yung shear line magdudulot ng pag-ulan,” said Pagasa weather specialist Ariel Rojas.
(Cloudy and rainy skies will prevail in the Palawan area and the Kalayaan area due to the LPA, while the shear line will cause rain in the Bicol region.)
This LPA was last spotted 115 km west of Puerto Princesa City as of 3:00 p.m. and is expected to exit the Philippine area of responsibility on Thursday.
“Sa ibang bahagi ng Luzon kasama na ang Metro Manila at ibang bahagi ng Mimaropa ay patuloy na naapektuhan ng Amihan, bahagyang malamig sa umaga at mainit sa dakong tanghali at hapon,” he added.

Meanwhile, hotter and more humid weather is expected in the rest of the Visayas and the entire Mindanao, but thunderstorms are still likely to occur during the afternoon and evening.
An LPA was also spotted on Wednesday morning and was last located 705 km east of Borongan City, Eastern Samar.

Baguio City: 15 to 25 degrees Celsius
Laoag City: 21 to 34 degrees Celsius
Tuguegarao: 23 to 33 degrees Celsius
Legazpi City: 26 to 31 degrees Celsius
Puerto Princesa City: 25 to 30 degrees Celsius
Tagaytay: 21 to 30 degrees Celsius
Kalayaan Islands: 26 to 23 degrees Celsius
Iloilo City: 25 to 31 degrees Celsius
Cebu: 25 to 31 degrees Celsius
Tacloban City: 25 to 31 degrees Celsius
Cagayan De Oro City: 24 to 31 degrees Celsius
Zamboanga City: 24 to 33 degrees Celsius
Davao City: 25 to 32 degrees Celsius
No gale warning is raised but moderate to rough sea conditions are expected to prevail in the majority of the country’s coasts.
