Active COVID-19 cases in Olongapo dip below 100-mark after 7 months

OLONGAPO CITY—The number of active COVID-19 cases in this city further dropped below the 100-mark after recording 25 more recoveries and a single new case, local data showed on Wednesday, Oct. 27.

According to the Olongapo inter-agency task force, the city’s active infections now stood at 88, the lowest in the last seven months.

The single new COVID-19 case is a 74-year-old man from Barangay Mabayuan who manifested viral disease symptoms.

Data also showed that the new recoveries raised to 5,024 the number of patients here who were cleared of COVID-19.

It reflected a 93-percent recovery rate out of 5,416 cases logged since last year.

The task force also registered one new fatality related to COVID-19 on Wednesday following the death of a 70-year-old man, pushing to 304 the city’s death toll.
