MANILA, Philippines — Fair and cool weather will prevail in Luzon on Thursday due to the northeast monsoon or “amihan,” according to the state weather bureau.
The Philippine Atmospheric Geophysical and Astronomical Services Administration (Pagasa) added, however, that partly cloudy to cloudy skies with isolated light rains are also expected in Metro Manila and the rest of Luzon.
Pagasa announced the start of the northeast monsoon or “amihan” season last Monday. It usually lasts until February or March.
The Caraga, Western Visayas and Central Visayas regions will have cloudy skies with light rains, while the rest of Visayas and Mindanao will have fair weather with isolated rains and thunderstorms.
Meanwhile, a typhoon outside the Philippine area of responsibility is moving away from the country.
Typhoon Malou was last spotted 1,875 kilometers east of extreme Northern Luzon.
It was moving north northeastward at 15 km/hr.
