Labor group Sentro backs Robredo’s presidential bid

DAVAO CITY, Davao del Sur, Philippines — Labor group Sentro ng mga Nagkakaisa at Progresibong Manggagawa (Sentro) is throwing its support behind the presidential bid of Vice President Leni Robredo.

Mercy Abucayon, Sentro-Davao spokesperson, said on Saturday that the group made the decision after examining and deliberating on the track record of the various presidential candidates.

“For us, Leni is number one… She has contributed a lot of things for the farmers and labor groups,“ Abucayon said.

Sentro has about 2,000 members in this city.

Some of its leaders and members joined the caravan for the Team Robredo-Pangilinan (Tropa) on Saturday, similar ones of which were also held in other parts of the country, to show solidarity for the vice president and her slate for the 2022 elections.
