10 Shih Tzus dead in Bacolod City fire
BACOLOD CITY––Ten Shih Tzus, including four puppies, died Thursday, Oct. 14, in a fire that hit a room of a building in Bacolod City.
Only two Shih Tzus named Peachy and Cotton survived.
Chief Inspector Rodel Legaspi, city fire marshal, said they received the fire alarm at 11:57 a.m. and placed it under control at 12:06 p.m.
The fire, which began in the bedroom of spouses Noel and Jane Chu on the third floor, was believed to be “electrical in nature.”
“The owner informed us that there was an electrical outlet in the room that had experienced a short circuit before,” Legaspi said.
The damage was initially placed at P100,000.
