BACOLOD CITY––Twenty persons were rescued from a vacation home in Salvador Benedicto town, Negros Occidental after a landslide destroyed its stairs’ landing.

While no one was injured, Mayor Marxlen de la Cruz said he ordered the temporary closure of the establishment while experts inspected the vacation home.

Guests staying at the vacation home sought early Monday the help of the municipal government through social media because they could not get out since the landing of the stairs at the vacation home was affected by a landslide.

The municipal disaster risk reduction management office personnel immediately responded to assist them.
