Negros Occidental groups form coalitions for Robredo presidential bid
BACOLOD CITY––The Negros for Leni (N4L), composed of private sector organizations and civil society, has been created in Negros Occidental to support the presidential bid of Vice President Leni Robredo.
One of the convenors of the group is former Negros Occidental Go. Rafael Coscolluela.
No public officials have surfaced so far to endorse Robredo.
A planters association and two cooperatives announced Sunday, Oct. 10, their support for the presidential bid of Robredo.
Members of the VICMICO Planters’ Association, VICMICO Planters’ Multi-Purpose Cooperative, and VMC Farmers Multi-Purpose Cooperative endorsed Robredo to be the country’s president in 2022, in a statement issued Sunday.

Article continues after this advertisement“Servant leadership is not easy. It is very hard. But it can be sustained if one decides that this is how life must be lived. For service, for others,” it added.
At least 25 youth organizations in Negros also issued a statement of support for Robredo’s presidential bid.
The Negros Youth for Leni, an alliance of youth organizations and leaders, believes that a Robredo presidency will help Filipinos heal from the COVID-19 pandemic, corrupt governance, and national division, the N4L statement said.
“The alliance believes that with Robredo, we can rebuild a Philippines that is free from disease, poverty, and hunger”, it said.
A group of alumni, students, and faculty from Augustinian schools also issued a statement of support for Robredo’s presidential run in 2022.
Augustinians for Leni is a loose coalition of students, faculty, alumni, and laity from La Consolacion College Bacolod, Colegio San Agustin Bacolod, and University of Negros Occidental Recoletos.
