MANILA, Philippines — Former Agriculture Secretary Emmanuel “Manny” Piñol filed his certificate of candidacy (COC) for senator on Friday.
Piñol personally submitted his COC at the Hotel Sofitel Harbor Garden Tent in Pasay City.
Piñol stepped down as chairman of the Mindanao Development Authority, effective October 5 and left the ruling Partido Demokratiko Pilipino to pursue his Senate bid.
He will join the senatorial slate of Senator Panfilo Lacson and Senate President Vicente Sotto III who are running for president and vice president.
