Kiko Pangilinan chosen by various groups to be Robredo’s vice president

MANILA, Philippines — Liberal Party stalwart Sen. Francis “Kiko” Pangilinan has been chosen by various groups supporting the presidential bid of Vice President Leni Robredo to be her running mate in the May 2022 elections, two INQUIRER sources said.
One of the sources said Pangilinan would accompany Robredo when she files her certificate of candidacy for president on Thursday afternoon.
“For many of us, Pangilinan’s experience and knowledge make him the best choice as (Robredo’s) partner in ending the incompetent and corrupt government we have had since 2016,” the source said.
Another source confirmed that Pangilinan has been selected by the groups backing Robredo’s presidential run.
Pangilinan is the husband of actress Sharon Cuneta whose uncle Senator Vicente “Tito” Sotto III has filed his candidacy for vice president, in tandem with Senator Panfilo Lacson.
