Bayan Muna files CONA for 2022 party list run
MANILA, Philippines — Bayan Muna on Thursday filed its certificate of nomination and acceptance (CONA) during the seventh day of the filing of candidacies.
The party list group lodged its CONA at the Harbor Garden Tent, Sofitel Hotel in Pasay City.
In an earlier statement, Bayan Muna vowed to keep and advance its position as a leading partylist group in the 2022 elections for the upcoming 19th congress “despite the attacks, vilification campaign and the challenges posed by the pandemic.”
The group’s first nominee is Teodoro Casiño, its former representative in the House of Representatives.
Casiño, now spokesperson of the Bagong Alyansang Makabayan (Bayan), is a key figure among local activist groups, having been the head of the College Editors Guild of the Philippines.
Bayan Muna currently has three seats in Congress.
