Over 1M gov’t-procured Pfizer shots arrive in PH

MANILA, Philippines — A total of 1,015,560 doses of US-made Pfizer COVID-19 vaccine arrived in the Philippines on Wednesday night.

The vaccine doses, which were procured by the national government, arrived at the Ninoy Aquino International Airport Terminal 3 at around 8:45 p.m., as shown on a livestream by state-run PTV.

The National Task Force against COVID-19 said 76,050 doses were earlier delivered in Cebu while 77,220 doses will be brought to Davao on Thursday morning.

So far, over 77 million vaccine doses have been delivered to the Philippines.

Vaccine czar Carlito Galvez Jr. earlier said the country’s COVID-19 vaccine supply might reach over 100 million doses by the end of October.
