Cops capture Pampanga’s most wanted
MABALACAT CITY, Pampanga—Policemen arrested the province’s most wanted person during a manhunt operation in Sasmuan town, according to police on Tuesday (Oct. 5).
In a statement, Brig. Gen. Valeriano De Leon, regional police chief, said the fugitive, Joel Dimalanta, 49, was captured by provincial, regional and town police forces.
De Leon said the policemen served a warrant of arrest issued by Judge Jonel Mercado of Guagua, Pampanga Regional Trial Court Branch 52 for a drug offense that carried no bail.
The regional police said Dimalanta was the most wanted person in Pampanga province.
One of Mexico town’s most wanted persons, identified as Justine Mendoza, 20, was also arrested on Tuesday.
Col. Robin Sarmiento, newly installed Pampanga police director, said Mendoza’s arrest was made the San Fernando RTC Branch 43 issued a warrant for a car theft case. A P200,000 bail was recommended, though.
