MANILA, Philippines — The National Capital Region (NCR) is now at moderate risk of COVID-19 as the seven-day average of cases in the area decreased by 28 percent, according to OCTA Research.

“Reproduction number 0.81 and ADAR (average daily attack rate) below 25 means NCR now at moderate risk based on covidactnow. [Eight] LGUs (local government units) [are] also at moderate risk,” David said.

Aside from the reduced reproduction number, OCTA also noted that the positivity rate in NCR decreased to 16 percent over the past seven days.

“Using our metrics, the following LGUs are now considered moderate risk: Malabon, Manila, Navotas, Pasay, Parañaque, Valenzuela, Taguig, and Mandaluyong, while the rest of the LGUs remained at high risk, mainly because healthcare utilization remained high in those area,” OCTA said.

On Sunday, the Philippines logged 13,273 additional COVID-19 cases, bringing the country’s case count to a total of 2,593,399.
