‘Walang ginawa’? Robredo’s spox sets record straight on VP’s projects, initiatives

MANILA, Philippines — Atty. Barry Gutierrez, Vice President Leni Robredo’s spokesperson, on Sunday set the record straight on Robredo’s projects following a vice presidential bet’s comment on Robredo’s projects.

During the BISErbisyong Leni Program on DZXL, Gutierrez was asked for his reaction to vice presidential candidate Lito Atienza’s inquiry on Robredo’s activities.

Gutierrez said that Robredo’s projects since 2016, when she was elected into office, are posted on the Office of the Vice President’s Facebook page or even reported on radio, television, and news articles.

(It’s sad that out of all Robredo’s projects to help the public, there are people who will say things that are not based on truth. We know that it is not based on actual information or right data but — if not to cause damage — it is based on speculations that have a wrong basis.)

(They should be careful especially if they will run for a position. If you want to stand as a candidate for a national position, your responsibility should be to verify what you’re saying, right? Make sure that what you’re saying is based on truth. That’s simple.)

Gutierrez mentioned Robredo’s projects including the distribution of personal protective equipment sets to hospitals, free rides during mass transport suspension, COVID-19 vaccination express, swab cab, and teleconsult project Bayanihan E-Konsulta.

He added that Robredo’s office has distributed over P1 billion for medical assistance.

(This is not to brag but to set the record straight. There are many people destroying her and there are many trolls and anonymous accounts saying Robredo has not done anything.)

For Gutierrez, Robredo is one of the vice presidents who have done so much for Filipinos.

(But in reality, I think Robredo is one of the vice presidents who have done many projects for the country despite her lack of Cabinet position or additional designation.)

(With her initiative and help from partners in the private sector, local government units, and civil society, she has helped many people.)
