Woman, son busted for illegal drugs in Zambales

A 67-year-old woman and her 33-year-old son were arrested during a buy-bust operation Friday, Oct. 1, in Subic town.

SAN ANTONIO, Zambales—A 67-year-old woman and her 33-year-old son were arrested during a buy-bust operation Friday, Oct. 1, in Subic town.

Col. Romano Cardiño, provincial police director, identified the suspects as Luzviminda and Rico Nipay. Rico is on the drug watchlist in Central Luzon.

The suspects were arrested at their house in Sitio Agusuhin, Barangay Cawag, after allegedly selling a sachet of “shabu” (crystal meth) to an undercover agent around 1: 45 a.m.

Seized from them were 37 sachets containing shabu weighing 29.9 grams worth P203,320.

They face charges of violating the Comprehensive Dangerous Drugs Act of 2002.
