Total number of registered voters now over 63 million — Comelec

MANILA, Philippines — There are now more than 63 million registered voters for the 2022 national elections, Commission on Elections (Comelec) chairman Sheriff Abas said on Wednesday.

“As of September 11, we already processed 63,364,932 registered voters,” Abas said over CNN Philippines.

Abas said of the 63,364,932 total registered voters, more than 9.1 million are new voters.

Of the 9.1 million, more than five million are new registrants, more than 871,000 reactivated voters, and more than 2.3 million transferees, according to Abas.

“So mataas na ito, so hopefully madadagdagan pa ito in the coming days,” Abas added.

(This number is already high, hopefully more will register in the coming days.)

The present number of voters already exceeded the total number of voters in the 2019 elections at 61,843,771.

The voter registration period is now extended from October 11 to 30.
